Hand carved Rosewood Fu Lion beads.  Chinese export.  Produced in Hong Kong in the 1970s.  Carvings with this level of handwork are not being produced today.  Each bead is unique, differing slightly in size, shape and wood color.  Rosewood has a natural dark to light  gradient.
